Firing the tiles!

The Flag is taking shape! We have been busy glazing and firing the tiles....how many? 224! It is a process and so many different designs....they are all so cool. OK....so one morning I opened the kiln expected beautiful RED tiles and they looked Purple and brown! I panicked and started thinking what did I do wrong? Also, I was trying to think of how I could deal with it....checkered red and purple?? Well, 20 minutes later I looked in the kiln again and they were RED....Beautiful bright red! Aaah chemistry and art.

It's a Grand Old Flag.....in the GHS Cafeteria!

GHS Senior Zach Williams was chosen to lead the painting of the Flag Mural as a part of the VSA Art Award. He drew the design and then asked students to help him with the painting. It is a work in progress! Yep......we had a wittle paint spill in the hall! Taylar and others joined in to help Zach get it cleaned up! He ruined his bright yellow converse shoes with a paint spill.....well, that's what we thought! Zach is soooooo creative!
